Fashion Friday by Tania Orozco

Earlier this week I saw a mini doc about the Making of / Christian Dior Haute Couture SS 2015 where they show the whole process of making the pieces for the runway. I was amazed by the meticulous detail in each piece, the amazing colour palette in the long skirts and the clever way to do the hair. I immediately felt inspired so I decided to mix a couple of dresses and some accessories from this collection in order to create my own painting, to honor this Iconic Fashion house.

OK people I’m super pumped about how this painting turned out!…  Last night I got immersed in making the ribbons for the blouse and getting together crystals for the skirt. I glued over 60 Swarovski pieces… after all, it’s couture right? :-P

I’m super excited with the final result, I cannot stop staring at my painting… It’s definitely one of my favourites so far.

Below is the link for the mini doc and of course, my painting. I hope you like it and I always appreciate your feedback.

Fashion Friday by Tania Orozco

Hi there,

Today is a rainy #fashionfriday in Vancouver and I want to write about makeup. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, just some blush and colour on the lips and I'm ready to go, but I always find inspiration from MUA for my illustrations. I love the way they mix and blend colours, and play with contour and highlights in order to make crazy or casual looks. Believe it or not, watching tutorials on YouTube helps me understand how light works.

One of the things I love about makeup is lipsticks, I love to wear crazy colours, especially dark purples and red tones. Having said that, a few months ago I found the brand #LIMECRIME which has crazy makeup products and a lovely branding.

I was so intrigued by them that I started reading about the C.E.O Doe Deere so I started following her on instagram, since then, I fell in love how she embraces her style so I decided to paint something inspired by her looks and lifestyle for my Fashion Friday post.

She recently changed her hair colour and I love it, so here is the painting that I made. As you may know I love to give little twists to my work so I hope you like it.

BTW if you are into crazy colour lipsticks like me, I recommend you get the OCC lip tar primary colours test tube set (I got the test tube kit + Yellow, White and Technopagan), for me it's being like playing with paintings, I can mix different colours and get amazing hiper-pigmented long lasting lip colours. They are a little expensive but a little product goes a long way so you won't be spending a lot of money for I loooong time. I have them since last year and they are almost full. It's been a good investment.

Have a lovely Friday people!

New year by Tania Orozco

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since the last time I wrote a post. I've been busy working on a couple of projects that will see the light of the sun this year and hopefully I will be visiting México before the summer so I'm planning some exciting things to do while I'm over there. I will let you know more details soon so stay tuned.

In the meantime I've been seriously thinking on getting myself an early birthday present and I'm planning to get an analog Camera, I want to experiment with medium format. I don't know much about photography but when I was living in México I took a couple of workshops and a course at my old university.

I was lucky enough to experiment and learn how to develop film in an actual dark room! that was an exciting thing to do and my teacher was one of the funniest and coolest guys ever at that time, It was like a Mexican Seth Rogen, same kind of personality and they even look similar. Anyways, I received a TLR plastic camera as a present and I've been playing around with it, to my surprise IT'S SUPER FUN!... I always get too excited when I scan the negatives and get to see the actual results, It's always so unexpected. I love that.

If you would like to experiment with photographic film or give someone a cool present I recommend you to get the same camera as mine, to be honest it's a little tricky to assemble but it's definitely worth the time, you can get it here :-)

I will leave you with some photos that I took last year in Victoria, B.C. my favourite was the one with the big guy wearing a red hat (first photo).. I took it at some random gas station in the middle of nowhere, that one is kind of scary and weird at the same time and that's what I love about it.

See you soon y'all!

Mar rojo by Tania Orozco

Tu eres mar rojo

narcisista y torrente vigoroso
